Kent State Faculty Strengthen Global Arts Dialogue Through “Archipelago”

鶹’s School of Art is proudly represented in the 4th Cayman Islands Biennial, Archipelago, through the significant curatorial roles of its faculty. Associate Professor of Glass Davin Ebanks and Associate Professor of Art History Joseph L. Underwood were invited by the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands to co-curate the exhibition.

This biennial, running Oct. 2, 2025 through Feb. 18, 2026, is sited across multiple locations on the three Cayman islands and explores themes of individuality vs. collectivity under the concept of an archipelago.

At Kent State, Ebanks is known for his glass practice and exploration of cultural identity and environment through his work. Underwood, a scholar of modern and contemporary African art and exhibitions, brings expertise in diaspora and biennial practices to this international project.
