Pre-Departure Orientation

Prior to your study abroad experience, you will participate in a mandatory pre-departure orientation hosted by the Office of Global Education. During this orientation, you will be provided with information including but not limited to:

In 2018, Matthew Cornshaw-Arnold graduated from Kent State with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, crediting the degree with providing a philosophical approach to his studies.  After graduating, Cornshaw-Arnold completed an internship with Akron METRO and started a full-time position at the Republic Steel office in Canton, Ohio. Academic S.T.A.R.S. students

Since the summer of 1990, the Academic S.T.A.R.S. (Students Achieving and Reaching for Success) Program has been offered at Āé¶¹¹ū¶³.  The E. Timothy Moore Student Multicultural Center oversees the program, which supports the successful transition of first-year students of color into the university. Training & Development announces supervisory series - note DATE CHANGE

The Training & Development team is pleased to announce that there is still space available in the Supervisory Foundations sessions. Join us Feb. 27 and 29 for this two-part training which aims to help supervisors navigate new expectations and clarify what successful supervision looks like today. Participants will complete SWOT analyses for their teams, review motivation theories, practice stress relief tools and more! 

Deadline approaching: apply to be a Flashes 101 instructor

The Flashes 101 course is designed to focus on students’ sense of belonging as they transition to Kent State. Flashes 101 will also normalize help-seeking behaviors by empowering students to communicate their needs and locate critical campus resources. If you want to be a Flashes 101 instructor this fall, please review the instructor information outlining important dates and application materials. Apply by Friday, Feb. 16.
