Charity Climb-a-thon

Ask your family and friends to donate to this great cause! Each donor will pledge whatever dollar amount they can per number of climbs on our climbing wall throughout the evening or your donor can give a fixed donation. You must have a minimum of $20 in donations total to participate.

Pool Kayak Clinic

New kayakers can come learn kayaking skills. Participants may bring their own boats via the loading dock stairs and back entrance as long as the boats are FULLY CLEANED before entering the pool. If you don’t own a boat, one will be provided for you to use. Contact adventurecenter@kent.edu with any questions. Pre-registration IS REQUIRED by the Wednesday before each program.

Introduction to Climbing and Belaying Clinic

This two-and-a-half hour program covers the basics of indoor climbing including equipment, bouldering, top rope climbing, and belaying with an ATC and Gri-gri device. This program sets up an individual with no prior experience to take our belay test which is required when purchasing a climbing wall membership.
Date & Time: Every other Mondays & Thursdays, Aug. 18 - Dec. 4 from 5:30 - 8 p.m.

College Skate Night

College Late Night Skates are Wednesday nights at the KSU Ice Arena for Kent State college students with a current college ID. Guests may accompany a KSU college student, but must be 18 years of age or older and have an ID.
Cost is $5 (includes skate rental)
No cash payments at the Skate Rental and Concession counters.
CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENT ONLY (Visa, MC, Discover)
Guests must be accompanied by a current KSU Student.
College Skate Night admission sales will begin 30-minutes prior to the session start time.

Wellness Wednesday - topic Nutrition

Free weekly event for students every Wednesday during the academic year providing wellness education, interactive activities, and giveaways. Participants do not need to be present the entire time.

Dates & Times: Wednesdays, Aug. 20 - Dec. 3 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. (no program Nov. 26 Thanksgiving)

The Mindful Mile

The Mindful Mile is a 1-mile walk around the Kent Campus that is open to students, faculty, and staff. Join KSoW & Undergraduate Student Government as you stop at peer led tables to engage in mindfulness activities relating to nature, mental health, physical activity, and mindful eating. Finish the event with a FREE yoga class on the Student Green. Complete the event survey at the end of the walk to be entered into our mindfulness basket raffle!

You can start the walk at the K or the Eastway Courtyard.

Paint & Pose Yoga Workshop (water bottle)

Hydrate in style - move with intention. Join us for a one-of-a-kind workshop that blends mindfulness, movement, and creativity in the most refreshing way! Tap into your artistic side as you design and paint your very own personalized water bottle using paints, markers and your imagination. While your masterpiece is drying, roll out your mat for a rejuvenating, multilevel yoga flow designed to relax your body and calm your mind. Whether you’re here for the stretch, the art, or the hydration inspiration, you’ll leave feeling centered, creative, and refreshed.

CPR/AED Professional Rescuer Blended Learning

All aquatics certifications are taught by American Red Cross-certified instructors. Please note that participation in a certification class does not guarantee certification. All skills related to the certification must be properly demonstrated (as defined by course outline) in order to receive certification. Participants must successfully complete all skills and score an 80% or better on each written test in order to be certified. Certificates will be emailed as a PDF from the American Red Cross within 10 days of completion of the class. Class will start promptly at the designated time.
