Join DI for Fix-It Kent, a hands-on repair workshop where experienced coaches will help you repair your everyday objects, saving you money and keeping waste out of landfills. This free community event is open to anyone looking to fix household items, electronics, clothing, small appliances, and more. Whether you're tackling a wobbly chair, a torn jacket, or a gadget that’s stopped working, our volunteer repair experts will guide you through the process.

Inside the AIDS Fight: Memoir of an Epidemiologist at the Pandemic Front Lines

Join the College of Public Health for a presentation about "Inside the AIDS Fight: Memoir of an Epidemiologist at the Pandemic Front Lines," with Harry W. Haverkos, M.D., physician with expertise in internal medicine and infectious diseases and author of the eponymous book.

Dr. Haverkos first encountered an AIDS patient in 1980, and by 1983, he challenged the prevailing belief that HIV alone caused AIDS, highlighting additional contributing factors.

Flashes First Friday 2025

  As part of KSU Kickoff, members of Kent State's incoming Class of 2029 were invited to discover all that downtown Kent has to offer at Flashes First Friday on Aug. 15.   New Flashes got to experience the shops, services and fun of downtown Kent that they can enjoy as members of the community. Brian Miner, '99

Brian Miner, '99, North Canton, OH, has been named vice president of Hasenstab Architects. Serving as a principal at Hasenstab Architects for the past nine years, he leads both the higher education and laboratory design studios. With more than 26 years of experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role.
