What’s Happening in Physical Education in Term 4 2025:
FOUNDATION
Foundation students will be introduced to games that require students to be aware of personal safety and game boundaries as well as participating in games responding to stimuli, such as musical chairs. Students will also explore how regular physical activity keeps individuals healthy and well.
GRADE ONE
Grade 1 students will be introduced to a range of ‘Net Games’ and continue to develop striking, throwing and catching skills.
They will also be discussing how the body reacts to participating in different physical activities and how they are feeling. Particularly identifying and sharing positive feelings they experience when participating in physical activities.
GRADE TWO
Grade 2 students will have the opportunity to develop further skills in a variety of ‘Net Games’ including striking, throwing and catching skills.
They will also be discussing how the body reacts to participating in different physical activities and how they are feeling. Particularly identifying and sharing positive feelings they experience when participating in physical activities.
GRADE THREE
Grade 3 students will be focusing on ‘Target Games’ to begin Term 4. This will provide opportunities to explore and practising different techniques to propel objects towards a target and apply basic rules and scoring systems.
They will also examine the benefits of physical activity and physical fitness to health and wellbeing while completing fitness challenges.
GRADE FOUR
Grade 4 students will be focusing on ‘Target Games’ to begin Term 4. This will provide opportunities to explore and practising different techniques to propel objects towards a target and apply basic rules and scoring systems. They will also examine the benefits of physical activity and physical fitness to health and wellbeing while completing fitness challenges.
GRADE 5/6
Grade 5/6 students will participate in physical activities designed to enhance fitness and discuss the impact of regular participation on health and wellbeing.
They will also take part in Tennis and Basketball sessions which will provide opportunities to further develop students understanding of scoring systems, rules and how team strategies can be utilised during a game.
