The Early Childhood Special Education program at �鶹���� has received federal funds to prepare individuals at the master's degree level to work with families of infants and toddlers with disabilities in early intervention settings (home and community contexts). The program is designed for individuals with existing bachelor's degrees in special education and related fields (e.g., teacher licensure or certification), but all interested individuals are encouraged to apply. East Liverpool – Kent State at East Liverpool’s Student Government Organization presented a check for $1,000 to the university’s foundation to help fund a memorial scholarship honoring the late Dr. Roxanne Burns. Burns was a longtime biology professor on the East Liverpool Campus who died last fall. She helped organize several activities on campus, including the annual Environmental Justice Conference held during Earth Week each year, and was active with numerous student organizations. The National Institute of Nursing Research at NIH has awarded Biological Science's Min-Ho Kim  a $1,842,350 five-year grant to develop “nanobombs”, a nanotechnology-based therapeutic platform, that can treat biofilm infection in chronic wounds.  Kim notes: "we hope to establish a novel platform for “smart” treatments for the management of antibiotic-resistant chronic wound infections".
