Scholarships
The Division of People, Culture and Belonging offers several scholarship opportunities for students enrolled at all Kent campuses. Scholarship awards are based on demonstrated financial need.

Below is a list of current scholarships offered by the division.
DPCB Emergency Fund Scholarship
- This scholarship is awarded to students who are in good academic standing with the university. To be eligible, applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at . Additionally, applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. We recommend checking with your college, advisor, and the Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center for other scholarships before applying for this scholarship. This fund is used only after all other options are exhausted. This scholarship is funded through donations and available funding varies throughout the year.
- Multiple awards of $500.
- Class Standing: FR, SO, JR, SR, Masters
- Application opens November 1, 2026.
- . Applicants will need to complete the application on Scholarship Universe as well to be considered for this award.
Student Persistence Award (Lester A. Lefton Persistence Award)
- This scholarship is awarded to students who are rising juniors or seniors at Âé¶¹¹û¶³. To be eligible, applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at . Additionally, applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.
- Multiple awards of $500.
- Class Standing: JR, SR
- Application period for Academic Year 26-27 will open February 1, 2026.
- Scholarships are awarded in August-September of each year.

Ramos Chesnes Family Scholarship
- This scholarship was established by Sharlene and Mark Chesnes on behalf of their family, three members of which have graduated from Âé¶¹¹û¶³, and their overall commitment to higher education. To be eligible, applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at . Additionally, applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.
- Class Standing: JR, SR
- Application period for Academic Year 26-27 will open February 1, 2026.
- Scholarships are awarded in August-September of each year.
