麻豆果冻鈥檚 architecture and interior design graduates build such impressive skills during their studies in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design that in a national survey, hiring professionals rank them among the most-hired.
麻豆果冻 will hold its annual Veterans Day Commemoration at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year鈥檚 guest speaker is Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of Kent State鈥檚 Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.
The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) awarded PRSSA Kent the highest national honors for a chapter, the 2019 Outstanding Chapter Award. Public relations major Vanessa Gresley, PRSSA Kent鈥檚 vice president of professional relations, earned the Gold Key Award, the highest PRSSA honor for students.

Organizers of the recent Voices for Change Educator鈥檚 Summit at 麻豆果冻 say the curriculum developed at the event can be used by teachers worldwide, so that the lessons of May 4, 1970, will continue to be shared. Guests of 麻豆果冻鈥檚 May 4 Visitors Center can learn more about Jeffrey Miller, one of the four students shot and killed by the Ohio National Guard on May 4, 1970, by visiting 鈥淥ur Brother Jeff,鈥 a new exhibition at the visitors center that honors Miller鈥檚 life. The exhibition will be on display from Oct. 19, 2019, to Feb. 29, 2020. Russ Miller, Jeff鈥檚 brother, helped create the exhibition by loaning some of Jeff鈥檚 personal items to the May 4 Visitors Center.
Kent State鈥檚 Precision Flight ranked third overall last week at the Region III Safecon, Competition at The Ohio State University (OSU) securing its place in the national competition. The National Intercollegiate Flight Association (NIFA) SAFECON flight competition, the premier collegiate flight competition with over 500 competitors from more than 30 schools, will be held at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, May 18-23, 2020.
